REVALUE PROVENCAL CRAFTS

Originally from Les Baux de Provence and expatriated for many years, I strongly appreciate the need to revalue traditional know-how and offer an alternative to ever more standardised products. Perpetuating ancestral gestures, bringing a contemporary touch to local crafts, working with quality materials and collaborating with committed initiatives seem to me to be resolutely modern and meaningful solutions.

TRANSMITTING THE CRAFT

I always wanted to anchor my project in a social economy and solidarity approach. For the past few years I have been training prisoners to make lavender fuseaux, which each summer with dexterity they add to my collection. Beyond the simple pleasure of working together that it provides, the transmission of this know-how contributes to rebuilding a certain self-esteem and constitues – modestly – a first step towards their social and professional integration.

CULTIVATE AND PRODUCE LOCALLY

I cultivate my lavender in the heart of the Alpilles, without fertilisers or chemicals, while respecting the surrounding biodiversity. Each flower is hand-picked during the flowering period from June to September. Hives will soon be installed nearby, allowing bees to pollinate the plants and produce delicious lavender honey. From the lavender field, located at the foot of the village of Les Baux de Provence, to the finished products, I’m proud to claim that what I’m producing is 100% Made in Provence!
